Labels At Cost.

ShipSquared Label & Postage Policy

Effective Date: 2/20/2025

1. Introduction

ShipSquared is committed to transparent pricing and fair fulfillment practices for all eCommerce brands we work with. This Label & Postage Policy outlines how we handle shipping rates, carrier selection, and cost pass-throughs to ensure you receive the most competitive rates with no hidden markups or unfair pricing tactics.

By using ShipSquared’s fulfillment services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Carrier Selection & Rate Optimization

ShipSquared partners with USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL to provide reliable, cost-effective shipping for your orders.

How We Choose the Best Shipping Rate:

  • We dynamically search for the lowest available shipping rate based on the package size, weight, destination, and service speed.

  • Our system automatically selects the best carrier to minimize costs while maintaining delivery reliability.

  • USPS is typically the most cost-effective option, but when another carrier offers a lower rate for a particular shipment, we prioritize that option.

3. No Postage Markups – You Pay What We Pay

Unlike traditional 3PLs that add $3–$5 per label as an upcharge, ShipSquared charges exactly what we pay for postage.

  • The shipping rates you see on your invoice are the same rates we are billed by the carriers.

  • There are no hidden surcharges, no "convenience fees," and no price padding.

  • Each month, we provide a transparent breakdown of your shipping costs, ensuring you always know where your money is going.

4. Shipping Rate Adjustments & Carrier Fees

While ShipSquared strives for accurate and consistent pricing, carriers occasionally implement additional fees that we are also charged. These fees are passed to customers at cost without any additional markup.

Some common fees that may appear on your invoice include:

  • Address Correction Fees: If a package is shipped to an incomplete or incorrect address and needs rerouting.

  • Peak Season Carrier Surcharges: During high-demand periods (e.g., November-December), carriers impose temporary surcharges that vary by shipping volume and destination.

  • Local Pickup Charges: Some carriers charge an additional $0.30 per label for local pickup services. This fee is imposed by the carrier, and we pass it through without markup.

These carrier-imposed charges are industry-standard and are not ShipSquared fees. We ensure these costs are itemized in your invoice for full transparency.

5. International Shipping & Duties

For international shipments, carriers may charge additional fees, including:

  • Customs Duties & Import Taxes – Determined by the destination country and billed to the recipient in most cases.

  • Extended Area Surcharges – Applied by carriers for deliveries to remote locations.

  • Fuel Surcharges & Handling Fees – Fluctuate based on global shipping conditions.

ShipSquared does not mark up these fees but will pass them through at cost based on carrier invoices.

6. Shipping Label Processing & Tracking

  • All labels are generated through ShipSquared’s carrier-integrated system, ensuring accuracy and real-time tracking availability.

  • Tracking numbers are provided immediately upon label generation and synced with your eCommerce platform.

  • In the event of a label error (e.g., invalid address format), ShipSquared will notify you immediately for resolution to prevent shipping delays.

7. Liability & Refunds on Shipping Costs

  • Carrier Delays & Issues: Once a package has been shipped, ShipSquared is not liable for delays, damages, or lost shipments caused by the carrier.

  • Label Refunds: If a label is generated but not used, ShipSquared will work with the carrier to request a refund on your behalf. Refund timelines are determined by the carrier.

  • Incorrect Weight/DIM Charges: If a package is under-declared in weight or dimensions and the carrier imposes an adjustment fee, ShipSquared will pass through the cost at the exact amount charged by the carrier.

8. Updates to This Policy

ShipSquared reserves the right to update this policy as needed to reflect carrier changes, industry standards, or adjustments to our fulfillment processes. Any changes will be communicated in advance.

This ensures full transparency while making it clear that every fee we pass down is exactly what we are charged—with no unnecessary padding. Let me know if you need any refinements! 🚀
